HTC to Release Snapdragon-driven Mobile Phones?

It seems that HTC is set to launch new Qualcomm Snapdragon-based mobile devices in the second quarter of 2009.

HTC Qualcomm The new HTC handsets will be super quick with the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.

This potentially could turn into a very interesting phone with HTC being the only one in the market right now to use Android as its operating system.

Toshiba TG 01, which runs on Windows Mobile, has also made use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.

According to Digitimes, there are many other device makers that have entered into a contract with Qualcomm for developing mobile computing devices based on Qualcomm solutions. These comprise of Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Acer, Asustek Computer, Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron, Inventec and Foxconn International Holdings (FIH).

In addition, HTC is currently in process of developing Intel Atom based mobile devices. More details about the Snapdragon-based mobile phones from HTC are expected to emerge soon.
