Those who have purchased the HTC One S recently are in for some undesirable surprise, seeing as the handset’s retail value has been trimmed down once again ever since its launch in February last year. HTC had unveiled the smartphone at Rs 33,590, which later was slashed to Rs 25,900. Flipkart has now made it available at Rs 21,799.
The smartphone rocks Android Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. While its UK-based variant received a Jelly Bean update this year itself, no such details have been disclosed for the HTC One S in India. A 4.3-inch AMOLED display has been planted on its front panel, coughing up visuals at a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Fitted within the comfort of the phone’s 130.9mm x 65mm x 7.8mm dimensions is a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.7GHz.
We have seen the evolution of smartphones, especially the high-end devices which have moved onto 13MP camera units. This is why the mid-range segment contenders are being crafted with 8MP snappers in recent times. The handset in question which could’ve qualified as a top notch gadget a year back, currently suits the requirements of the mid-sector as it accepts an 8MP shutter with features like auto focus and a BSI sensor amongst others.
On the memory front, it puts forth a fairly good offering with a 16GB inbuilt storage capacity. Unfortunately, for people who find this space inadequate to quench their hoarding needs, the company hasn’t provided any source for expansions. Elements which are hidden within the frame include 1GB of RAM and a 1,650mAh Li-polymer battery.
Even though Saholic has also put the One S up for sale, it hasn’t proffered the device at a price matching that of Flipkart. And with a retail tag of Rs 22,889, the former portal’s unit happens to be relatively expensive than the Snapdeal and Infibeam variants which have been pegged at Rs 20,999 and Rs 21,699, respectively.
