It was already known that the HTC One ME was heading towards India this month thanks to a leak via Twitter and now the phone has actually landed for Rs 40500. HTC One ME is supposed to be a new variant of the One M9+ but with a polycarbonate body. The only area where the metal has been retained covers the frame. Otherwise, it’s all plastic and hence one of the reasons why its price is lower than that of the original.
The HTC One ME was first launched in China only in May. It is compatible with 4G LTE networks in India and carries a 64-bit octa core MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T processor clocked at 2.2GHz. A 2K resolution screen of 5.2 inches is nailed onto its front panel which also hosts a 4MP UltraPixel camera capable of shooting full HD videos and featuring an f/2.0 aperture.
Flip the phone over and you’ll see a 20MP main snapper instead of the duo camera setup flaunted by its metal-bodied cousin. This lens is accompanied by dual LED flash and it can capture footage in 4K resolution. HTC’s signature dual BoomSound speaker arrangement supported by Dolby audio technology can been seen on the front. The One ME runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop mated to the company’s custom software.
HTC One ME hides dual SIM card slots under the hood, features a fingerprint sensor and is powered by a 2480mAh battery. The HTC One ME has 3GB of RAM and expandable storage space of 32GB. It will be made available in three color options of gold sepia, rose gold and gray. You will be able to lay your hands on it in India starting from the coming weekend. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is its biggest Android rival at present.
