Original HTC One finally receives Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India

The HTC One which is the first smartphone in the high popular flagship series is finally being treated to Android 5.0 Lollipop in several Asian markets. Reports online have highlighted that the new firmware has started seeding to users in India and other places like Singapore and Malaysia are also seeing the update roll out.

The US was the first location where the HTC One M7 got Lollipop and it was just last month that the OS was released across Europe. With Android 5.0 reaching other markets, users will be able to experience the fresh enhancements and features in Google’s latest mobile platform. According to GSMArena, the update is labeled as version 7.21.707.105 and is a hefty 774.82MB in size.

It’s being seeded over the air and a manual release should also be available for download. On the downside, the Android 5.0 update doesn’t deliver the new Sense 7 UI found on the One M9 and it doesn’t look like the phone will be getting the custom interface or the newest version of the OS in the future either. Mo Versi, who’s the Vice President and Product Management of HTC USA, has revealed that the latest update already has most of the fixes from Android 5.1 Lollipop.
