HTC Myst speculated to be the Facebook phone, hardware details spill out

The HTC Myst which has been garnering popularity as the Facebook phone will apparently soon be out in the US via AT&T. News of the device has been doing the rounds for quite some time now, although it was then bestowed with the Opera UL moniker.

The Myst will be the second collaboration between the carrier, the manufacturer and the social network. The first time these three companies decided to join forces way back in 2011, it resulted in the making and the subsequent launch of the ChaCha which is better known as the Status by US users. This device along with the Salsa put forth the introduction of a dedicated Facebook button through which consumers could post pictures, images and even share websites with just a single click. In the event of an incoming or outgoing call, the screen would display contact details like their most recent status and photos.

Unwired View informs readers that they have been exposed to quite a few particulars of the latest handset. It appears that the smartphone will be graduating to a 1.5GHz dual core MSM8960 chipset and should have 1GB of RAM running alongside the CPU. Storage of data up to 16GB is said to be permitted and the device in all probability would disappoint consumers with the absence of a microSD port. Since the phone will be working against the backdrop of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, it can be expected to house all the most up-to-date features of the social networking website and other apps.

Twitter user, @LlabTooFeR spills out further specifications like a 4.3-inch touchscreen that spews visuals at 720p HD. The front panel also encompasses a 1.6MP camera which is just a slight improvement over the predecessor’s 1.3MP lens. The rear will supposedly encapsulate a 5MP snapper. Users can attain connectivity via LTE, HSPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

News surrounding the HTC Myst neither has any credibility attached to it nor does it have any pricing or release date information tagging along. Only time will tell whether the latest gamble by the maker, AT&T and Facebook will culminate into something productive.
