HTCHTC Merge spotted in Verizon livery

HTC Merge spotted in Verizon livery

HTC Merge

Previously, we had reported about the HTC Desire coming through Cellular South. Another HTC Android device has been spotted branded in red with Verizon. Yesterday, BoyGeniusReport posted some unofficial images of the much speculated HTC ADR6325, supposedly rechristened as Merge.

Sighting its hardware and presuming from these images, it appears to be a Droid. Equipped with a sliding QWERTY keypad, this Verizon handset is proposed to be the CDMA version of the HTC Desire Z or T-Mobile G2. However, the keypad of the Merge and the G2 are said to be quite different from each other in terms of the layout.

As far as its specifications goes, there is word in the mobile terrain that it will run on a Qualcomm MSM7630 processor. Apparently it will be fitted with a 5MP camera and feature a microSD slot as well as a SIM slot for global roaming. The Merge is rumored to operate on the Android 2.2 and HTC Sense. More importantly, the handset has been sighted with the Bing logo on its homescreen. This would mean that probably it is bidding adieu to Google and offering Microsoft’s Bing as the search engine.

Nothing official is yet out from either the handset manufacturer or the carrier, so sit back awhile till we locate something with the stamp of authority.
