The highly anticipated HTC smartphone, the HD2 is now officially available in Europe and Taiwan. HTC and Microsoft also revealed that the HD2 would be offered in the US via a major US carrier by early 2010.
The HD2 is said to be the first Windows phone with HTC Sense and presents a 4.3-inch capacitive touch display. Viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and pictures is now made easier by means of the capacitive touch display. The Windows Mobile 6.5 driven device is inclusive of a 5 megapixel camera and permits users to share snapshots via Facebook or Twitter.

The HTC HD2 shows what’s possible through our close partnership with HTC and it breaks new ground for Windows phones by delivering a beautiful multi-touch screen that people will love,” mentioned Microsoft Corp. chief executive officer, Steve Ballmer.
With the 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor, videos, games and other applications run at lightning speed. The smartphone also allows users to download a host of applications from the new Windows Marketplace for Mobile. The device offers synchronization with Microsoft Exchange and also enables users to check and manage multiple email accounts.
The HD2 is already shipping in Europe and will be available around the middle of November via Taiwan Mobile. It is expected to reach all over Asia in the coming month.
