It was just yesterday that we reported about the HTC Desire 200 being on the cards for the Taiwan-based conglomerate and the smartphone has been revealed officially in all its glory today. We must admit that HTC has pushed to the fore the same model that was caught in leaked images and most of the device’s specifications also reflect the rumored ones.
A major portion of the gadget’s front panel is occupied by an HVGA touchscreen which measures as much as 3.5 inches, while the rear panel is dominated by a 5MP snapper featuring fixed focus and the ability to record VGA videos. Compatible with a regular SIM card, the Desire 200 manages to deliver an enhanced acoustic experience, thanks to the integrated Beats Audio technology.
The Android-powered HTC Desire 200 relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor clocked at 1GHz, which in turn seeks assistance from 512MB of DDR1 RAM. Although users are stuck with an onboard storage space of 4GB, they can choose to increase the overall memory by popping a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity into the embedded expansion slot.
Although it was speculated to integrate a 1,400mAh battery, it tags along a 1,230mAh power pack instead. If we were to take the manufacturer’s word literally, it should offer roughly 7.4 hours of talk time to 3G users and about 10.9 hours of the same to those on 2G. This removable lithium-ion cell provides standby time of approximately 821 hours on the WCDMA mode.
The Taiwan-based company has yet to divulge the price and release date details of the Desire 200.
