Hop1883, a new entry-level mobile phone, comes equipped with GPS functionality. It will be offered by Hop-On Wireless that will be operating out of California.
The light weighed handset comes in candy bar form factor. The handset features a 2.8-inch 240 x 320 resolution (QVGA) screen. It is also embedded with SiRF Star III GPS receiver chip and a 2 megapixel digital camera.
The new GPS equipped device HOP1883 is a tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz inexpensive GSM phone for both domestic and international markets.
HOP1883 is currently in production. The GPS enabled mobile phones are assumed to be available by 2011, according to a report by iSupply. But, at the moment, there is no official word about the release of this mobile phone.
