GyPSii has teamed up with China Unicom to launch the Unispace powered by GyPSii, a new consumer-focused 3G mobile lifestyle service for iPhone customers offered via Shanghai Unicom.

The Chinese mobile phone market is currently flooded with approximately 687 million subscribers nationwide and claims to be the largest untapped market for the iPhone. In comparison to the 270 million subscribers in the US, entry into the Chinese market could require significant adoption rates. The company offers a wide range of applications along with GyPSii as the only social networking app on-deck at the release, 1 of 10 applications pre-installed and the only non-Chinese provider.

“The proliferation of mobile technologies in the Chinese market is stunning. People use GyPSii as part of their lifestyle: as a real-time vehicle to share their experiences, where they are, who they are, and what they’re doing. The technology invokes a new form of conversation that is innately mobile and based around where people are and what they are doing in real-time. After GyPSii and Unicom’s successful cooperation together during the Beijing Olympics, we are delighted to deepen this important relationship with Unispace and open GyPSii to Unicom’s millions of subscribers. We appreciate Unicom’s vision in working with us for this game-changing launch,” said Dan Harple, Executive Chairman of GyPSii.

For users outside China, GyPSii is available worldwide at app stores including iTunes, the Ovi Store, Blackberry App World, Getjar, Wefi, Turkcell’s Uygulama Pazari store, and the Android Market.

GyPSii is supported by all eight leading mobile operating systems including iPhone, Android, Java, Symbian S60 and S40, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile and MIDs. It supports broad compatibility with more than 350 devices in 26 languages.
