Here’s a new iPhone application for music lovers who also happen to own the device. Gracenote has unveiled the MusicID-Stream app designed for Apple iPhone devices which allows users to identify and enjoy music from any audio source. The application is incorporated with web radio function that allows users to listen to domestic and foreign radio stations from anywhere.
“We are pleased to enable this industry first with our MusicID-Stream technology, particularly in such an innovative and functional system as the smart drive kit for the iPhone,” averred Bill Fleck, head of automotive sales, Gracenote. “MusicID-Stream is an outstanding and fast music identification resource that will allow smart fortwo drivers to enjoy and acquire music content in their car in completely new ways.”
The details of the identified music track will be made available to the listener along with the album cover, artist and track name, cover art and a purchase link to download it. The fortwo drivers that come along with the application identifies and acquires the information with the help of audio waveform fingerprinting, search technology and Gracenote’s Global Media Database.
The price of the MusicID-Stream App has not been revealed.
