Google Street View captures India’s Taj Mahal, see what other monuments are listed

Just yesterday, we told you about ASI and Google Street View joining hands to document the beauty of the Taj Mahal and other Indian monuments via 360-degree images. The two plan to co-ordinate over one hundred cultural heritage sites across the country to bring the vivid details of these national treasures right to your living room.

The photos are not just plain old pictures of some aspects of the monuments’ beauty. They capture each and every step that the person documenting the imagery took. These 360-degree views can give you the tingling sensation of actually being there as you explore the various areas that have been photographed in detailed, high resolution.

When you visit the Google Cultural Institute website, you will be able to pick from Art Project, World Wonders and Historic Moments. The India heritage sites can be found under World Wonders. Once you click on the collection you want to see, one side of the screen displays Maps for easy navigation and to show you where you are.
