Google Nexus 5 log gives away Mirecast, wireless charging and more

Some new rumors concerning the Google Nexus 5 can be seen doing the rounds on the web and they have originated after its log was leaked. If it is to be believed, the device will have a set of sought-after features such as Mirecast, themes support and the ability to charge itself wirelessly amongst many others.

CNET reveals that the log obtained by MyCE confirms the wireless charging bit which previously came to light through the FCC filings. As far as the Mirecast application is concerned, it is basically an Android mirroring technology which beams the content of the phone on to the big screen TV. But as the aforementioned website notes, it doesn’t work as Chromecast that highly relies on the Wi-Fi network at home. The said mobile app uses its own ad-hoc network.

Multiple themes will also be part of the new Android KitKat platform that will debut along with the gadget. And that’s not quite all, if the grapevine’s word is anything to go by, then the OS is planning to bring the option of choosing color schemes to the table that appears something along the lines of Windows Phone 8.

The other details of the phone that have come to light indicate that it will be graced by a 5-inch touchscreen with 442 ppi and FHD resolution. An 8MP camera and a 1.2MP webcam are likely to grace the gadget, while the interior will be dominated by a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, NFC, 4G LTE and much more.

The Google Nexus 5 availability details are obviously under wraps for now.
