In this version 5.12.0, users will see an additional option namely live event in the Places feature for a particular set of cities.
The cities for which users are deemed to spot the live events include New York, Paris, London, San Francisco, Zurich, and Switzerland. One may agree that with this app, we may be conveniently spared the trouble of carrying around a paper map.
A free voice guided GPS navigation system is sure to make our search simpler, while users can also find and rate a given place. They are also entitled to receive recommendations for different areas nearby.
Most users may be familiar with other features of this app such as 3D maps, compass mode, traffic, layers, my location, street view and so on. Reaching a specific destination seems to be just a couple of clicks away with this innovative software.
The aforesaid cities which usually have a lot of action going on may be flooded with live events. In such a scenario, this addition is touted to take us to the event in no time.
Considering that this feature could be taken advantage of at other places as well, Google has plans of extending it to other cities soon. The Google Maps for Android app is free and is up for download at the Android Market.
