Right on, taking a trip to another country can be a cool experience for those who like some sort of adventure in their lives. But understanding the local language may now always be picnic. To help such travelers across the globe, Google has just revealed a new feature of Google Goggles, the Goggles Translation, reports Google’s Official Mobile Blog.

Journeyers can point their mobile device at a word or phrase and use the region of interest button to draw a box around specific words. Users need to press the shutter button, if Google Goggles recognizes the text it will give them the option to translate.

Users can simply press the translate button to select the sources and destination languages. To make it worldwide, Google Goggles can read English, French, Italian, German and Spanish and can translate to many more languages. Now encoding information has just got easier.

In addition to translation, Goggles v1.1 features improved barcode recognition, a large corpus of artwork, recognition of many more products and logos, an improved user interface, and the ability to initiate visual searches using images in users’ handset’s photo gallery.

Google Goggles v1.1 is available on mobile devices running Android 1.6 and higher.
