Google gives Chrome a new look to blend in with iOS 7 on iPhone, iPad

Google’s been showing Android and iOS a lot of love lately by rolling out an updated Wallet application and making Quickoffice free. And now. it has delivered a fresh Chrome browser for the latter OS. The update was announced not long after Apple released its latest firmware and according to the official Chrome blog, the new app is designed to blend in with iOS 7 carrying various improvements and fresh features.

Chrome for iOS affects the iPhone and iPad and it has been given a fresh look. Through deep integration of Google Apps with the browser, switching between services from the Mountain View giant is made simple. Clicking a link which leads to YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Drive or Google+ will automatically open the respective app. You can even configure which services can be launched from Chrome under the ‘Google Apps’ tab in Settings. Also, once you’ve singed into your account on the browser, running any one of these applications will let you login with just a simple tap. Accounts can be added or removed from the Settings menu.

If you’re running iOS 7 on the iPad, the application is said to provide an improved fullscreen experience. The latest release also tags along augmented voice search. According to Miranda R. Callahan, Software Engineer at Chrome, the app allows you to club together multiple searches with pronouns to get quicker results. For example, you can ask, ‘Who directed Star Trek into Darkness?’ followed by ‘Who is his wife?’

The Chrome 30 application for the iPhone and iPad is available for download through the App Store. You need to be running iOS 6 or later and have 24.7MB free storage.
