The Google+ for iPhone app has been upgraded to v2.0.0.5888 by the Mountain View crew. This new version brings forth improvements in terms of the usability and appearance of images.

The overall interface of the Google+ facility has been refreshed with the fonts appearing sharper, pictures larger and a homescreen that’s much more user-friendly. Other elements like overlays and gradients have been thrown into the mix to make the articles or images more visually appealing. With this update, the collection of pictures or videos can be easily organized and scanned as well.

“To be clear, we’re not interested in a mobile or social experience that’s just smaller. We’re embracing the sensor-rich smartphone (with its touchable screen and high-density display), and transforming Google+ into something more intimate, and more expressive. Today’s new iPhone app is an important step in this direction – toward a simpler, more beautiful Google,” states a post on the official Google Blog.

To make the app interface more engaging, conversations will appear in one view and there’ll be optical cues to bring members’ attention to posts. The +1 action will now be displayed on the upper panel of the stream, allowing users to conveniently point out their favorites. In general, the application’s performance has been enhanced with better navigation attributes and bug fixes.

The Google+ for iPhone app v2.0.0.5888 can be downloaded via iTunes. It is compatible with iOS 4.3 or higher devices. The Android update is expected to arrive soon.
