Google announces ‘In stock nearby’ feature

In-stock-nearby Feature

Making a lot of things plain sailing, according to the Official Google Mobile Blog, Google has recently announced a new feature ‘In stock nearby’ for mobile devices.

If users are searching for a particular product that is sold by participating retailers, including Best Buy, Sears, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm, they can just look for the blue dots in the search results to see if it’s available in a local store.

If searchers see a blue dot, they can tap on the adjacent ‘In stock nearby’ link to check if the item is ‘In stock’ or has ‘Limited Availability’ near them. Users can also see how far away the stores are from them – as long as they’ve enabled My Location or manually specified their location.

The new feature is currently available for iPhone, webOS and Android-powered devices. Users can simply go to Google.com in their mobile browser, tap on the ‘more’ link, and then select ‘Shopping’.
