Google rolls out Android 4.3 for HTC One, Galaxy S4 Nexus editions

Ten days down the road and Google is all set to give the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 Nexus editions a taste of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean over the air. We guess the company has no intention of straying away from its word of rolling out speedy updates for the HTC and Samsung Google Play edition (GPe) devices.

The Android 4.3 update which saw the crack of dawn along with the company’s revamped 7-inch tablet, brought in a bunch of new changes including Bluetooth 4.0 LE support and the ability to restrict profiles. It also accommodates additional dialects such as Hindi, Swahili and Zulu.

As per a report on AnandTech, the upgrade has fired up the IR Blaster on HTC One GPe, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 Nexus edition now features Bluetooth tethering. The aforementioned article has pointed out that the icons seen on the handset’s widgets panel seem to have bloated a tad bit.

Furthermore, the background of the GS4 has given up the pitch black hue and is now dominated by a smooth gradient effect. Flashing the build JWR66V label, the update scales up to 180MB for the Taiwanese device and 150MB for the South Korean smartphone.

Here’s what the upgrade has introduced for the GPe smartphones:

– Bigger icons on the widgets panel
– IR blaster enabled for UltraPixel-equipped handset

– 150MB (GS4) and 180MB (M7) in size
