Gmail and Google Calendar sync improvements rolled out for Windows Phone 7.5 devices

Windows Phone 7.5

The good news for those with smartphones operating on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS is that Google applications such as Calendar and Gmail have been improved with the addition of some handy features. A post on the official Windows Phone blog has revealed that these enhancements would make the experience of using the suite of Google apps a much easier one.

Users of Windows Phone 7.5 smartphones who are in the habit of making their schedule for the day with Google Calendar, will now be able to view appointments from multiple calendars. A maximum of up to 25 different calendars can be synced through the handset in question.

Mobile device owners can do so by visiting m.google.com/sync, logging in and choosing their phone and the calendars they wish to sync. The process would be complete once the Save tab is clicked. The blog states that besides this Google Calendar syncing function, another change that the company has implemented involves the Gmail app.

People may search for Gmail messages that haven’t even been downloaded onto a Windows Phone device. So more conversations beyond the ones stored locally on the smartphone can be seen. The updated settings page will let users facilitate the ‘Send Mail As’ feature for their account so that they may customize the addresses from which mails can be sent within the Gmail account.

As mentioned already, the changes in Google Calendar and Gmail are now accessible by those wielding smartphones running on the Windows Phone 7.5 platforms.
