Gionee has launched its premium S6 Pro phone along with the brand’s first VR headset in India. The former was unveiled in China in June this year. It is out through the company’s online store right now as well as across retail outlets, in rose gold and gold color variants.
The S6 Pro is enabled with a Split Screen feature that can display two open applications side by side to users for multitasking. An 8MP front camera sits above the 5.5-inch full HD display. The main snapper of the device is of 13MP resolution and a fingerprint sensor is also present on the handset.
A 1.8GHz MediaTek processor in tandem with 4GB RAM power the S6 Pro. It runs the Amigo 3.2 UI based on Android Marshmallow and houses 64GB internal memory under the hood. The dual SIM device has support for 4G VoLTE connectivity.

As impressive as the new smartphone from the Gionee stable sounds, there is another offering with similar specs – the Coolpad Note 5. Customers in the country can get the latter for less than half the price of the S6 Pro.
