Gionee’s new selfie-focused handset, the S6s, is now available for sale on the Amazon India website for Rs 17999. The phone has a full-metal unibody and a front-facing flash module that proves useful when taking photos using the secondary camera in low light. It also plays host to the Face Beauty 2.0 and a Live Filter feature.
The S6s has a 13MP main lens while the one in the front is of 8MP resolution. Its 5.5-inch full HD display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The rear of the device sports a fingerprint scanner for security and Gionee’s new logo. The phone supports 4G connectivity and VoLTE.
The S6s is supplemented with a MediaTek MT6753 octa core processor and 3GB RAM. Its internal memory of 32GB can be expanded up to 128GB using a TF card. The device has a 3150mAh battery that claims to give a talk time of 23 hours. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 under Amigo 3.2 UI. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

The S6s has entered the Indian market just a few months after the launch of its predecessor. With respect to its front camera, the phone is likely to face competition from models like the Oppo F1s (Rs 17990), the Lenovo X3 (Rs 19999) and the LeEco Le 2 (11999).
