We’re not fans of the Gionee CTRL V4S because of its name more than anything else and have been wondering why a regular person would even consider buying this Android phone which has just been unveiled for India at a price of Rs 9999. Is it too much trouble to cobble together a catchy name everyone can pronounce without thinking of alien-speak, Gionee?
As far as looks are concerned, there’s nothing about the Gionee CTRL V4S that will make you stop and take a second look at it. It’s a generic slab of Android which comes in two color options of black and white. The phone’s specs as equally as bland as its exterior. It lands with 1GB of RAM and a 4.5-inch display capable of delivering just 845 x 480p resolution visuals.
Since phones as inexpensive as Rs 2699 are launched with Android KitKat nowadays, don’t expect us to be raving about this Gionee smartphone running the same. Some of its better components include its two SIM card slots, an 8MP camera on the rear and a quad core Cortex A7 chip. There’s 8GB of internal storage space as well as a microSD card slot for adding up to 32GB of extra space.
