Gameloft previously made news when it collaborated with Sony Ericsson to enrich the Xperia Play experience with its action-packed BackStab game. Well, the company has now announced its plans to release a game based on the movie The Adventures of Tintin for smartphones.
This new game promises to amplify the gaming experience with interesting elements and mind-boggling features. It is touted to develop one of the most popular episodes in Herge’s comic strip for the first time on mobile platforms. The new game delights many by offering a combination of mystery, exploration and humor.
“Tintin is one of the most popular comics of the 20th century,” commented Gonzague de Vallois, Senior Vice-President of Publishing at Gameloft. “We’re particularly pleased to be bringing such a beloved and iconic character as Tintin to fans on their mobile phone, smartphone or tablet.”
The game follows intrepid reporter Tintin, his buddy Snowy and friend Captain Haddock in search of treasure lost in the wreckage of The Unicorn. In addition, players will be presented with familiar characters and environments in an authentic adaptation of the cutting-edge technology used in the film.
The company has licensed The Adventures of Tintin from Paramount Digital Entertainment. The game is expected to be released along with the movie in October 2011.
