fring app to get new Playgrounds feature for video chat

fring Playgrounds Feature

Socializing through video chat has become the norm of the day and now it has also arrived on the fring mobile app in the form of the Playgrounds feature. The new addition lets app users participate in group video discussions. They can also enjoy two-way video, voice calls and text chat with their friends on Android, iPhone and Nokia smartphones.

fring users are allowed to engage in four-way video discussions and have an option of doing so either by browsing a list of open Playgrounds or creating their own video chats about desirable topics. They are also enabled to jump into Playgrounds with other fring users and in this way can get to share more views and news.

“Playground video chat empowers users to video & voice their opinions about things that matter to them. We let users do more than simply ‘follow’ their interests. Now they can actively engage with others via video chat, instead of waiting for character-constrained updates or time delayed posts,” commented Avi Shechter, CEO and Co-founder of fring.

The world’s first video chat service was apparently started by fring in November 2009. Through real-time discussions via video chat, users can talk about subjects that matter to them with likeminded individuals interested in the same issues. In short this new feature is said to add a new subject-centric approach to group video chat.

Playgrounds is now available for free as part of the fring mobile app and can be downloaded from the App Store and the Android Market.
