Foursquare app updated for Windows Phone

The location-based social networking space, Gowalla, launched their Windows Phone 7 app just last week. Now the Foursquare application has been totally revamped for the Windows Phone 7 platform.

This time around, according to the Windows blog, this application is taking into considering users’ needs and has been designed to suit them. Some of its main features are the Leaderboard Live Tile and the Panorama dashboard view of updated friends and places. Identifying friends who have checked in nearby is possible with this app which allows users to check-in quickly via its tap-and-hold check-in feature.

Remodeled in collaboration with Microsoft, this app has created the whole ‘check-in’ mania in recent times. This craze is basically about sharing with and telling friends via social networking sites exactly where the user has arrived, with whom and at what time. To further show their friends, users can also click their pictures as soon as they reach the place of arrival and upload them.

The new Foursquare 2.0 Windows Phone app can be downloaded now from the Windows Phone Marketplace.
