Flipkart has just announced that it is stocking TV sets in its inventory for people in India to get them delivered at their doorsteps. One of the largest e-retail sites in the country, it used to stock televisions before but had put a lid on it last year issues related to delivery.

At the moment, the service for TVs is limited just to buyers in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, but Flipkart has assured that other regions will soon be added to that list. Cash-on-Delivery will be available to potential buyers and so will services like 30 day replacement guarantee and In-a-Day delivery guarantee. Add to that the usual discounts which e-retail sites are used to offering, and purchasing TVs online should be a better experience than buying them in-store.

Flipkart is fast turning out to be an absolute biggie in the Indian e-commerce space. Earlier this year, it scored exclusivity on the Moto G smartphone which turned out to be a massive hit, and then it even grabbed the Moto X thus gaining an upper hand among contemporaries.

If rumors are to be believed it is on the verge of merging with Myntra, a site aimed at selling fashion and casual wear. Last we heard, TechCruch was saying that this deal is apparently valued at around $330 million.

There is no doubt now that Flipkart is giving big players like Amazon and eBay a run for their money, and this move of the site to start offering TV sets online only strengthens its position furthermore.
