Fishlabs rolls out multi- player Powerboat Challenge for mobile users

Powerboat ChallengeFishlabs, a member of the ‘ng Connect Program’, is all set to introduce a multi player version of racing game Powerboat Challenge that is designed for ultra high bandwidth networks.

With this, the Powerboat Challenge can now offer multi-player, high speed racing in real time. An ultra-fast LTE or 4G network allows for real time transmission of competitor’s position data and other thorough details. Players can now enjoy a more realistic version of racing around buoys and competing against each other.

Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs Entertainment, has stated that, “The real-time transmission of acceleration vectors in racing games was simply not possible with the current mobile telephone networks, because the low data transmission rates and the high latencies only permitted time-lapsed races without collision queries For the maximum racing experience, head-to-head racing and vying for position are crucial for real excitement. With the new LTE and 4G networks, the mobile multi-player game will achieve a new dimension.”

Fishlabs will also be explaining its views on the scope and development of next generation networks for multi-player mobile games at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This will take place from 16 to19 February 2009.
