Facebook Messenger app for Android and iOS gets more interactive

Facebook Messenger App Android

The Facebook Messenger app for Android and iOS has just been upgraded to v1.7 with many interactive features. It is primarily aimed at making group conversations a breeze and more communicative.

In the new version, users will know when the other person is typing along with ability to tell the place from where the text came. Another feature will enable users to understand if the concerned parties have read the messages sent to them.

For now, this update is applicable to the standalone Messenger software that will slowly reach the web and the principal mobile apps of the SNS. Basically, the redesigned software makes it easy to know the location of the user punching in the text. Moreover, the three dots seen as an indicator of who is messaging will no longer be observed. Instead, the name of the person typing in the message will be displayed.

Those concerned about privacy can simply hide the location feature found in read receipts, which generally cannot be turned off. Considering that group conversations can get slightly awkward when we don’t know how the topic is progressing, these included attributes should make the flow smoother.

As stated on TechCrunch, there’s no word from Facebook’s on some leaked images that suggested the inclusion of video chat in the app. The Facebook Messenger app for Android and iPhone v1.7 can be downloaded via Google Play and iTunes, respectively.
