Those who don’t have a Smart Cover on their iPad 2 or just own an iPad and want the Evernote Peek app as their study companion now have a neat little app option. It has now been updated with a virtual Smart Cover which is said to work just like the real one.

The app functions on the basis of a specially designed interface which works in co-ordination with the design of the Smart Cover. Operating in a question-answer format, lifting off the cover first reveals a question. When users pull it up more, the answer is revealed. This system takes data from the notebooks which users create.

Apart from this, the Evernote Peek for iPad now has a few other add-ons. Firstly, the company has announced that it will function for all iPad devices, the first or second generation. So regardless of which iPad users possess and whether it has a Smart Cover or not, the app tries to fulfill the needs of all and sundry.

“Peek was inspired by the iPad 2 Smart Cover, but not everyone has a Smart Cover, nor an iPad 2. Knowing this led us to develop a swipeable Virtual Cover that maintains the dynamics of a Smart Cover, but could be used with any iPad. Now, when you launch Peek, you’ll be able to swipe down a tab and select a Virtual Cover of your choice—it’s available in 10 colors,” wrote Andrew Sinkov about the updated product on the official Evernote blog.

Another update in this app is the addition of new material from VisitEurope.com. This will enable users to learn more about regions of the continent like Scandinavia, Mediterranean, Western, Central, and more. This should also come in handy when planning a small trip or a long holiday in the province.

The Evernote Peek for iPad is now available for a free download via iTunes.
