Evernote for iOS update infuses app with shortcuts, related notes and more

Evernote for iOS has been blessed with a new update which imbibes the note-taking and archiving application with a host of fresh features for its premium as well as free versions. The Evernote team has described all these new additions on its official blog, and they include the ability to add shortcuts, a new related notes feature and support for the Skitch app.

Firstly, the shortcut trait lets a user easily access important notes, notebooks and tags for added convenience. All they need to do is tap on the star icon that’s placed on the bottom of each note. Shortcuts to tags and notebooks on the other hand, will be available to by opening them and tapping on the Shortcuts tab. These will of course be in sync with each and every device the user will be employing Evernote on.

Related notes is a premium feature, and as its name suggests, it displays content associated with what one is looking at. This is showcased at the bottom of the notes a user is looking at. And then there’s a recent notes trait which is available in the free version as well. It will basically put up some recently viewed content at the bottom of the note that’s currently being viewed. The introduction of Skitch support in this app will now allow users to annotate their images, PDF and even entire notes right through their iOS devices.
