Recently unveiled Dual Screen YotaPhone has received a price cut of Rs 5500 in India

The YotaPhone which was launched in India back in October for Rs 23499 has been given a good trimming to its price tag. The dual display smartphone is now selling for Rs 5500 less and that amounts to just Rs 17999 once you do the math.

Of course, the new retail amount is being offered by Flipkart which is still the exclusive seller of the YotaPhone in India. The device was originally revealed at the CES 2013 making it almost 2 years old. Nevertheless, it’s still an attractive release mainly because of its dual display design.

The Russian OEM has slapped an EDP panel onto the rear which allows you to view stuff like notifications, alerts and more when the phone’s main display is off. This helps conserve battery life as the need to power on the LCD each time for merely checking the time or alerts is avoided. The main screen offers touch support with 720p HD visuals and spans 4.3 inches wide.

The main downside of this phone is that it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is yet to see updates to newer versions of the OS which may never happen. Additionally, the processor used here is a 1.7GHz dual core Krait which is pretty outdated now.

Here are the main specs of the YotaPhone:

– Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
– 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 CPU
– 2GB RAM, 32GB storage
– Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, HSPA+
– 1MP front camera, 13MP rear imager
– 1800mAh battery

The YotaPhone can be purchased through Flipkart at the new amount in options of black and white.
