‘Project Composer’ is Dropbox’s secret collaborative note-taking tool

If you’re a regular user of Dropbox, then note-taking is all set to be an incredibly easy experience for you in the near future, as the cloud storage company is currently testing a service tailored for that very purpose. Codenamed ‘Project Composer,’ it will offer collaboration features, so others can contribute to your notes as well.

If you trace back the history of Dropbox, it had last year managed to buy a collaborative documents service company named HackPad. It’s hence no surprise that it’s brining the utility back with some fresh bells and whistles and its own branding of course.

As revealed by TechCrunch, ‘Project Composer’ was first spotted by a user on the Product Hunt site where daily round-ups of the best products are featured based on votes from its community. Right after a link to the website was posted here, other users started replying that they were unable to access it, which most definitely meant that Dropbox quickly took it down to keep its secret intact.

A Product Hunt user named Maggie Bignell, who also happens to work for the Pocket app, managed to log into ‘Project Composer’ before it was taken down. She has revealed through Twitter that it’s similar experience to that of the HackPad app, offering a ‘clean note-taking experience.’ And all this will be quite conveniently synchronized with your Dropbox account to make your notes available whenever you want them.

We’ll have more on the ‘Project Composer’ feature of the much loved Dropbox service as soon as new and interesting information on the matter is out in the open. So, better stay tuned for that.
