DoCoMo launches Unlimited Domestic i-mode Mails service

NTT DoCoMo offers a new service for FOMA users. This service allows users to send and receive unlimited domestic i-mode mails, including attachments for just 780 yen inclusive of taxes per month starting December 1.

This new service is called Mail Tsukai-hodai that means “all-you-can-use mail” in Japanese. Users can send and receive i-mode mails to and from DoCoMo handsets, non-DoCoMo handsets and PCs.

DoCoMo has also announced the launch of a billing plan called Type Simple with which users of Mail Tsukai-hodai will have to pay 780 yen per month after applying discounts along with the usual i-mode monthly charges of 315 yen including taxes.

The Mail Tsukai-hodai also includes packet flat-rate services wherein users can opt for pay-as-you-go. This service allows users to spend around 4,410 yen per month. However, it is applicable for users are using i-mode packet communication.

After launching the unlimited mail service, DoCoMo will not accept the new applications for its Family Wide Value, Family Wide Limit Value and Family Wide 2in1 along with all billing plans for junior high school age children and senior citizens above 60 years on March 31, 2010.
