Users of LG GW880 smartphone have a treat stored in for them. Dialog Semiconductor has declared its DA9035 IC for power management and audio. This device is designed to cater to the needs of LG GW880 smartphone users.

This design is claimed to the newest in a string of LG 3G mobile platforms to profit from Dialog ICs over the past one year. The 3G Smartphone is presently obtainable on the China Mobile network. This handset sports a 3.5-inch WVGA touch screen. The mobile phone also comes with GPS, Bluetooth, TD-SCDMA / TD-HSPA connectivity. The phone includes a 5MP camera and Mobile TV supporting CMMB (China Multimedia Broadcasting).

Dr Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog Semiconductor, commented, “LG is amongst the world’s most respected technology brands and the relationship with LG is an important one for Dialog. We’re delighted to strengthen this relationship as LG continue to move forward in the Android Smartphone sector. The Android OS enables great usability and access to a vast range of applications. However, this means users are running power intensive software for greater periods, yet demand that battery life is unaffected. Dialog is proud to be a key enabling factor in meeting this requirement.”

For 3G cellular platforms, the DA9035 PMIC and Hi-Fi audio / voice codec integrates a 24-bit audio processor, touch screen controller, LED / vibrator driver and system-level power management functionality.

The DA9035 can connect straightaway to the battery. It delivers stable, low noise supplies for every central circuit in the handset. Moreover, the device supplies supplementary regulators for superior application facilities like Bluetooth modules, camera modules, and SD memory cards.

The price and availability of DA9035 IC are currently under wraps.
