All that is about to change! A new mobile application and ad-supported platform called as Daily Downtime has been introduced in the United Kingdom. It offers some really wicked stuff and it does this daily! Daily Downtime will be providing snackable original content such as trivia, jokes, quotes and facts of the day as well as Sudoku and puzzles. The users can expect things like horoscopes and nationwide interactive polls. What’s more, there is even a countrywide ranking system that will rank the Daily Downtime users.
James Bagshawe is the founder and director of Daily Downtime. He explains, “I am happy and thrilled to be launching the Daily Downtime application. We are giving the public great stuff, for free, every day. We think that is a winning mishmash. Whenever boredom or idleness strikes, Daily Downtime is the cure you always carry with you. Throughout our beta test, we are going to add more stuff and continue to improve the service. We feel it’s a win-win. Our users get great free content and brands get a targeted, visual, dynamic and non-intrusive platform”
Though Daily Downtime is live, it is still in the beta phase. It can be downloaded from the official website. They are making use of the television advertising model for the mobile platform and the service will be available on high as well as low resolution Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Samsung handsets. The makers have promised that they will be setting the benchmark for a ‘clean’ user experience for mobiles and will never spam or send third party messages. But that remains to be seen as most services like these do end up doing that.
