D-Link D100 voice calling tablet launched at Rs 13550

The affordable D-Link D100 tablet which is the first of its kind from the networking equipment manufacturer has been made available for purchase in India. The slate is a voice calling one running Android and it’s on sale through e-commerce websites with prices tagged above Rs 13000.

The D-Link D100 is basically a mid-range release, but its retail amount is quite high for the features it offers. You get the standard components found on most devices which fall in the same category. The slate is powered by a 1.3GHz quad core processor which is no doubt based on the Cortex A7 and Android 4.4 KitKat runs the show.

The D-Link tablet has an awkwardly sized display of 7.85 inches and the IPS panel proffers visuals at 1280 x 768 pixel resolution. There are dual cameras onboard too, with the front carrying a 2MP sensor and the rear housing a 5MP shooter. As mentioned above, the tablet has voice calling support, but only 1 SIM card slot is present.

Also, you get access to 3G data through HSPA+ connectivity along with Wi-Fi n and Bluetooth 4.0. The D100 offers an entire gigabyte of RAM with 16GB of internal flash storage. The overall hoarding capacity can be increased through the microSD card slot and there’s USB peripheral support via OTG. Lastly, the device packs a 4000mAh battery to get things up and running.
