Cube26 launches Iota Lite smart bulb for Rs 1499

Cube26, an Indian technology startup, has unveiled a smart LED bulb dubbed the Iota Lite and will sell it exclusively via Flipkart from November 6. It’s priced at Rs 1899 but can be bought for Rs 1499 as a special introductory offer.

The Iota Lite is the 1st Internet of Things device by Cube26, the company primarily being known for developing mobile software such as Blink to Capture and Look Away to Pause. Specs-wise, the gadget is powered by a Texas Instruments microprocessor and utilizes Toshiba LED technology. The 7W bulb possesses 500 lumens of brightness and can project 16 million different colors.

Cube26 guarantees the smart bulb will last for 15000 hours. It communicates through Bluetooth 4.0 and can be installed into an existing fixture without any extra hardware. The device is supposedly future-proof and comes with upgradeable software. It’s compatible with smartphones running Android 4.0 and onwards.

The Iota Lite works with an app to hook up a maximum of 7 smart bulbs. It possesses a number of features such as a call and SMS alert where it starts blinking when a user gets a call. People can even customize the color for certain contacts. Similarly, consumers will be able to set a weather alert according to the forecast at a location.

There’s also a music sync option which changes the color according to the rhythm of the song playing in a person’s phone. Cube26 has further equipped the smart bulb with various presets that lets users modify the light according to a mood like reading mode, party mode and relaxation mode.

Like we said above, the Iota Lite costs Rs 1499 and will retail through Flipkart.
