Creative Technology’s ZiiLabs unleashes a full 3.5G/4G smartphone and development platform which support the Optimized Android and Linux-based Plaszma platforms. The new Zii Trinity the platform offers advanced high-definition 1080p video output and accelerated 3D graphics to permit several OEMs and ODMs to conveniently and cost-effectively release differentiated Android and Plaszma-based solutions in the market.
ZiiLabs’ StemCell Computing array enhances advanced multi-format media processing. The StemCell Computing array is a vital element of ZiiLabs’ ZMS-05 and ZMS-08 processors. These processors offload the ARM CPU to bring low-power, superior performance media-rich processing necessary for next-generation mobile phones. Developers can create ultimate 3D experiences with improved user interfaces, games and pedestrian navigation, thanks to the accelerated OpenGL ES 3D graphics.

Zii Trinity 3.5G Concept Phone supports Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-band WCDMA, HSDPA Cat 8 at 7.2mbps. It integrates a full-featured platform featuring ZMS-05 StemCell processor. The Concept Phone also equips 3.1-icnh 480 x 800 16M color Active Matrix OLED with capacitive multi-touch, 5M pixel rear facing, auto-focus camera as well as VGA forward facing camera specially for video conferencing. It supports Xtreme Fidelity X-Fi audio technology, USB 2.0 micro port for connectivity and charging and mini HDMI port for 1080p video output.
Furthermore, connectivity features include integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR and Hardware GPS. It supports accelerated OpenGL ES 3D Graphics, video and imaging, composite video output and microSD storage expansion and SIM card slots. The device also equips 1130mAH lithium polymer battery and 256MB low-power DDR memory.
Mobile phone manufacturers can benefit from the Zii Trinity platform as it supports schematics, Gerbers, mechanical drawings, Board Support Package, middleware and OS. With the complete Zii Development Kit ‘3G Phone Edition’, developers can create products with their own choice of hardware components. The ZMS-05 and the latest ZMS-08 processors are supported by the Zii Development Kit.
