The Coolpad Dazen 1 and Dazen X7 are the first smartphones from the Chinese OEM to arrive in India and they’re being made available exclusively through Snapdeal. The former device is a mid-range option offering decent hardware and features, while the latter is a top-tier release flaunting beefy hardware and a premium design.
The Coolpad Dazen 1 is basically competition to the Redmi 2, Lenovo A6000 Plus and Yu Yuphoria. The phone falls in the 5-inch category carrying a 720p HD IPS LCD and it’s powered by a 1.2GHz quad core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor. Despite this, the company has chosen to launch the phone with Android KitKat and not Lollipop.
Also, the Coolpad phone offers the custom Cool UI 6 interface. There’s nothing much to write home about in design and its remaining hardware is exactly what you’d expect from a mid-range release of such. Accompanying the display on the outside is a 5MP front camera, while an 8MP shooter is placed on the rear.
And for the innards, the Dazen 1 has 2GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, a 2500mAh battery, 4G LTE connectivity and dual SIM slots. The Dazen X7 smartphone, on the other hand, is a premium release and flaunts quite an attractive form factor through its unibody design and aircraft grade aluminum body. It falls in the same waters as the Nubia Z9 mini, Mi 4 and OnePlus One.
