The Coolpad Cool Play 6 has gotten unveiled in India, several months after the flagship phone hit the scene in China. The brand’s changed some features of the phone to customize it for the local market.
One factor which hasn’t changed is the Cool Play 6’s affordable price tag. It costs Rs 14999 in India, targeting Coolpad’s usual budget market sector. The handset’s main strengths lie in the RAM and photography departments, with the brand equipping it with 6GB of RAM and 13MP dual rear cameras.
The former should help the Cool Play 6 out when it comes to daily tasks, helped along by a Snapdragon 653 processor and Adreno 510 GPU. As for the latter, the module has been enhanced by dual-tone LED flash, 4K video support, HDR compatibility, and f/2.0 aperture. There’s an 8MP front-facing shooter to take care of selfies.
Interestingly, Coolpad is promising buyers that it’ll be beaming out Android 8.0 for the handset by December 2017. This makes sense given its flagship status and is a plus for anyone eager to get their hands on Google’s latest OS. The device currently runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with a layer of Journey UI on top.
