CES 2011: Microsoft displays Home Server Vail app for Windows Phone 7

Vail App Amidst the high-end tech gadgets, Microsoft carved out space for its Windows Home Server codenamed Vail at the CES 2011, reveals Windows Home Server blog. Thus, it exhibits the next for Windows 7 users.

With this, Windows 7 add-in a new feature on Windows Phone dubbed ‘My Server.’ The blog further states that it is now in beta and the final release could come with an all new product name. Vail setup with Remote Web feature enabled is required by the Windows Phone.

On selecting My Server, the setup screen appears and one has to add their homeserver connection information. On adding an account, it takes users to simple setup wizard. Users have t6o key in Windows Home Server’s Domain name and hit on Submit.
Further, users get the username and password and can sign into the account. It includes Alert screen with all alert notifications while this ability can also be disabled. The media screen allows smooth access to all photos, music and movies.

The account screen can be used to logout of the Windows Home Server Add-in. The Windows Phone 7 ‘My Server’ app has the option of picture sharing. Moreover, it creates new folder called Mobile Uploads for all photos uploaded from the phone.
