BSNL free incoming roaming plans announced in India

BSNL has jumped on to the bandwagon of mobile operators offering free domestic incoming in India and has introduced plans that eliminate the said charges completely. Earlier this month, carriers such as Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular had also announced similar plans.

The state-owned telecom company has revealed that two special tariff vouchers will be available for slashing the incoming call rates. A Rs 5 recharge has a validity of a day, while another one that costs Rs 69 ensures that customers do not pay for receiving calls when roaming in India for an entire month. But these tariffs do not offer discounts on outgoing calls and both national and local calls will set users back by 1.5 paisa per second.

As far as Roaming Tariff Plans or RTPs are concerned, the service provider has Rs 405 and Rs 705 plans for its pre-paid customer base. Post-paid subscribers have options of Rs 145 and Rs 625 schemes that facilitate not only free incoming, but also free outgoing and text messages. For those who want to answer calls for free for an entire month on their post-paid numbers can also consider tariffs that charge Rs 149 or Rs 825.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India had reduced the incoming call charges along with that of SMS and had asked all network operators in the country to introduce plans for making this type of calls free of charge. Adhering to this notice from the board, companies like BSNL and all other mentioned above have come up with such plans and recharge vouchers.

These BSNL free roaming incoming plans are now available for the carrier’s subscribers.
