Bose SoundTouch range of speakers launched in India

Bose has launched the refreshed series of its SoundTouch range of speakers in India, now equipped with Bluetooth. The lack of the technology was a major drawback to the company’s previous lineup of products.

The wireless product portfolio consists of the Bose SoundTouch 10, 20 and 30 single speakers, the 120, 130 and 520 home theater systems, and the 525 and 535 entertainment systems. All of them now come with a Bluetooth rebroadcasting feature which allows users to play one song over multiple devices.

Bose has additionally released its SoundTouch app in India, compatible with iOS and Android devices. The tool offers people access to nearly 20000 internet radio stations such as Pandora, Spotify, Deezer and iHeartRadio. However, these channels aren’t available in the country yet. Users can further set 6 personalized presets to any playlist, artist or radio station.

The Bose SoundTouch 10 is priced at Rs 19013 and is the smallest item being offered. It has Wi-Fi built-in and ships with a remote control. The USP of the device is its compact size, weighing a light 1.87kg and measuring just 21.20 x 14.10 x 8.70cm in terms of dimensions. It requires a power source to work though, so it can’t be considered a replacement for a portable speaker.

It’s also outfitted with waveguide technology, which the brand claims delivers a robust performance. It’s considerably heavier at 11.70kg and displays information through an OLED screen.

Finally, the Bose SoundTouch 120, 130 and 520 home theater systems retail for Rs 110138, Rs 147263 and Rs 164138, correspondingly. All three come with the ADAPTiQ audio calibration tool, which automatically adjusts sound according to the acoustics in a room.
