But that surely doesn’t mean that the company has sidelined its BB OS 7. In fact, this platform has also been welcoming new applications and the number has been increased to 124,960. Thus, in all, there are 256,668 apps currently for the two platforms in BlackBerry World. As many as 37 percent of these utilities are designed by developers from the Asia Pacific region and BlackBerry also offers direct carrier billing for buying them in as many as 46 countries.

The OEM has not only added a considerable amount of apps for the BB 10 OS, but also has been introducing devices running the platform quite regularly. Only recently, the Z30 phablet that brings a 5-inch touchscreen, an 8MP camera and a 2MP webcam amongst other things, was unveiled. The Z10, Q10 and Q5 handsets are the other phones powered by this platform.

Additionally, BlackBerry will be rolling out the BB OS 10.2 update sometime in October.
