Blackberry 9520 WiFi

The BlackBerry Storm 2 will offer users a better experience than the first BlackBerry Storm. For one, it will be equipped with a better touchscreen and the second major change is that it is going to feature WiFi. It will run on OS 5.0 which has been codenamed Odin.

New images of the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm 2 aka BlackBerry 9520 have been spotted recently on the German Vodafone cell phone network. These images display that built-in WiFi is definitely going to be featured in the smartphone. However, this is currently true only for the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm 2 and not the Verizon one. Hopefully, Verizon will follow and also unblock the WiFi option in its version.

It has taken quite a long time for CDMA BlackBerrys to catch up with their GSM counterparts in launching WiFi enabled BlackBerrys. Verizon had deliberately kept WiFi off some of its handsets in order that users should use their 3G network. However, they are changing this policy and now permitting more of its models to be equipped with WiFi.

IntoMobile says that the Vodafone BlackBerry 9520 as well as the Verizon BlackBerry 9550, both are anticipated for an October release. The pricing details are as yet unavailable.
