BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982 finally goes official (Video)

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982 was already leaked on the web and it was just a matter of time before the two companies went ahead and released it officially. So here it is, the decked up version of the Z10 that has especially been bestowed with design elements that sets it apart from the other smartphones.

BlackBerry has revealed that this handset runs a customized version of the BB 10.2 OS and has been packed into a form factor that is crafted using high-quality materials. It comes in variants with either Italian or Crocodile leather. It should be noted that only 500 units of the limited-edition device with Crocodile leather will be released. Thus, users interested in grabbing this stylish piece of hardware will have to hurry.

The outer frame of the P’9982 is constructed using stainless steel with a satin finish, while the back door is made of genuine leather. The limited-edition version will have a special series of PIN numbers to distinguish them from regular devices. Its front side is dominated by a touchscreen and it lacks a physical keyboard.

The customized operating system of the device brings multiple features such as BlackBerry Priority Hub that manages conversations and notifications and BlackBerry Keyboard that learns your style of typing. All the other usual features like BBM Video with Screen Share, Camera Time Shift mode, Story Maker, BBM integration in various apps and more have also been tossed in.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9982 with Italian leather back door comes in three shades and will be made available starting tomorrow via company-owned stores and select retailers across the globe. The Crocodile leather limited edition gadget will hit Porsche Design stores in December.
