RIM has unveiled the next-generation enterprise mobility solution called the BlackBerry Mobile Fusion in India for Android, BlackBerry and iOS smartphones as well as tablets. This offering is set to infuse numerous mobile device with management capabilities and will ease the management process of various handsets powered by BlackBerry, Google Android and Apple iOS OS.

The different features that the Mobile Fusion will provide include asset, configuration, security and policy definition management along with a high rate of scalability. The latest BlackBerry solution will also offer other functionalities such as the ability to secure lost or stolen devices through various methods and enable centralized console.

BlackBerry Mobile Fusion brings together our industry-leading BlackBerry Enterprise Server technology for BlackBerry devices with mobile device management capabilities for iOS and Android devices, all managed from one web-based console. It provides the necessary management capabilities to allow IT departments to confidently oversee the use of both company-owned and employee-owned mobile devices within their organizations,” commented Alan Panezic, Vice President, Enterprise Product Management and Marketing at RIM.

The BlackBerry Mobile Fusion concept will facilitate user and group based administration as well as connectivity, application and software management. It is touted to be a combination of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 5.0.3 and the new management capabilities of BlackBerry PlayBook tablets.

The BlackBerry Mobile Fusion solution is presently in the early beta testing stage with some enterprise customers. A closed beta program is scheduled to commence in January next year. The offering will apparently be commercially available in late March 2012.
