BlackBerry discounts the Z10 in India for festive season, new price Rs 29,999

From the original price of Rs 45,000, the BlackBerry Z10 was dropped to the mid-Rs 30K range and now, the company is discounting the smartphone even more. The new retail tag is Rs 30,000 and the promotion is said to run for a limited time period only.

The BlackBerry Z10 is the first smartphone in the BB10 series. It features a full touch design and an intuitive interface which is accessible via the 4.2-inch display that boasts of HD visuals and 356ppi pixel density. The device is powered by a dual core Krait processor clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB of RAM, while memory needs are taken care of by 16GB of storage and a microSD card slot. There’s a front-facing 2MP camera and an 8MP rear snapper onboard as well.

BlackBerry Z10

The device was originally launched with the BB 10 OS, but it can be upgraded to version 10.1. Also, the next revision, release 10.2, is scheduled to go live next month. The fresh OS brings various new features and improvements to the table. It was announced along with the new BlackBerry Z30 smartphone that touts a 5-inch screen and a beefier processor compared to its predecessors.

The BlackBerry Z10 is expected to be available at the new price through retail stores across the country. Online outlets such as Flipkart and Snapdeal are also offering the smartphone at the discounted cost, while Amazon is asking for a bit more, Rs 31,990. Saholic and Infibeam on the other hand, have the handset tagged at Rs 35,775. There’s no specific date as to when the promotion will end, but you can expect it to run through the festive season.
