BlackBerry debuts unique loyalty programme for its customers

For those who’ve been loyal to BlackBerry and live in India, the company is rewarding existing customers with BlackBerry 10 smartphones at a discount. On top of this, fans will also be able to add to their frequent flyer miles courtesy of Jet Privilege. The rest of us who switched to Android or iOS out of necessity may be glad to know the brand’s not dead and can yet make a comeback.

India is still an important market for BlackBerry. Only last month, the company released its BlackBerry Classic handset for Rs 31990 and this phone along with the BlackBerry Passport, BlackBerry Z30 and BlackBerry Z3 are being sold with a discount of up to Rs 10000 each. In keeping with the times, this deal has been launched in partnership with online retailer Infibeam. In addition to the discount and frequent flyer miles, free data is also being bundled into the package.

Accordingly, those who choose the BlackBerry Z3 will get 1GB of free data each month for two months. The rest of the smartphones on offer will be sold with twice that amount of data every month for two months. BlackBerry has even extended assured JPmiles by JetPrivilege to non-BlackBerry users who decide to go for a BB10 handset. A lucky buyer stands to win a jackpot of 50000 JPmiles too. But forget that, what we really want to hear about is the release date of the BlackBerry Leap.

The Classic is the latest BlackBerry phone to have hit India. It has mediocre specifications for the price it commands and these cover a 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, a 3.5-inch 720p display, 16GB ROM, 128GB microSD card support, 2GB RAM, a 2515mAh battery, an 8MP main camera and a 2MP front-facing lens. The Z3 can be grabbed for Rs 13000 or less, the Z30 costs above Rs 18000 and the square-shaped Passport will put a Rs 48000-sized dent in your wallet.

The BlackBerry Loyalty Program is being rolled out exclusively through Infibeam. As mentioned above, the discount provided is only for BB10 devices.
